The impact of Coronavirus in the UK is affecting every area of people's lives. With the UK facing changing restrictions and local "lockdowns", many people are faced with issues of returning to work, children going back to school and the start of the university term. For some people, this may be a relief, for others it may be stressful. The future of certain industries is under question with many people facing job losses, this may trigger unbearable levels of anxiety or depression. Alternatively some people's lives have become less frantic and they feel calmer in the face of real challenges. If it would help to have a confidential conversation by telephone or online about your situation, give me a call or send an email. It is worth reflecting that past events in your life can often underlie current difficulties or stress, this may be exacerbated by the current Coronavirus crisis. Gaining some perspective on your life - present and past can often help.
You may find the following advice on Coronavirus Anxiety helpful (click on link) this is published by my professional organisation British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. The NHS and Public Health England have a good website to help people during Coronavirus called Every Mind Matters

I work with my clients in the way that best suits them, most research shows that whatever the theoretical approach that is chosen by the client - it is the relationship with the counsellor or psychotherapist that matters. My general theoretical approach is based on the principles of Psychodynamic Counselling where I can help you think through how your current difficulties or stress might be based on things that have happened in the past. For more details see my page on Talking Therapy.
